Common Fields debuted in June 2023, in the framework of Brussels2030 Summer Assembly, taking place as a two-fold event composed by a field trip and a creative lab. 

During the field trip, participants were invited to explore park Botanique, a threshold between the natural and the urban near the Northern Quarter of Brussels.

They used their mobile phone to take photographs, taking time to observe nature, architecture and life in the park. The photographs were then reworked into prints, mediating between the first and the third part of the process.

The creative lab gave rise to a common composition, a final artwork where individual, subjective perception, and collective action intersect. New landscapes and common fields emerged through a creative collaborative process, or of commoning the city through art and commoning art through the city.
